About Zabette and Shamanic Healing

Zabette Corsan now resides in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. She has been working with the Sacred Iboga Medicine for over 11 years. She is working with the community in Merida, to access many great healing modalities that are available here, to create the integration support that is important after and Iboga Journey. There is also a research component that you may like to be involved in. She offers group, couples, family, and individual private sessions, as well as Iboga Art Therapy and Intuitive Readings.

Zabette has completed a Women’s Initiation and Rites of Passage with the Missoko Bwiti (the healing branch of the Bwiti Tradition) in Gabon. She is trained to work with Iboga in the Bwiti Traditional way while utilizing western medical protocols.  While she deeply respects the tradition and the people who teach the tradition, she has chosen not to be indoctrinated. Instead, she has dominion over her healing work and works directly with the local spirits to facilitate and learn more about healing. The culture in other parts of the world is very different from West Africa, and so it requires an innovative and intuitive approach for the unique challenges. The Bwiti indoctrination process sets up a co-dependent relationship between the western providers and the Gabonese traditional councils.

The Bwiti tradition is oral, has been passed down through many, many generations, and embraces a deep understanding of life. It is not a magic bullet, but with the guidance of someone who is traditionally trained to serve the medicine, the aim is to reconnect a person with their soul. The soul can easily become disconnected from unresolved trauma at some point in any person’s life. In the modern and traditional understanding of illness and addiction, the root cause is unresolved trauma. The Iboga helps us view these traumas from a higher perspective, and working with forgiveness, self-love, gratefulness, and often with the help of our ancestors, it is possible to make a shift that changes the course of your life. You can begin to use Bwiti and other tools to maintain that connection and live a happy and purposeful life.

Visiting Merida

We welcome you all to come to Merida. We are here to help and provide services for your healing. Recently there have been U.S. and Canadian warnings against travel to Mexico. The Yucatan is not an area that is considered dangerous. Merida is ranked as one of the safest cities in North America. It is far safer than for example, Vancouver, B.C. There is an International Airport (MID) and Merida has all of the modern services and conveniences. We look forward to your visit, whether individuals, couples, families, or groups, we aim for good health, safety, and connection.

Merida is known for being one of the safest cities in North America. It is also very friendly with historic sites, pyramids and Mayan charm. At one point in history, it was know as "the city of millionaires", when there was a thriving Henequen industry, so there are many beautiful historic mansions and haciendas. It is surrounded by stunning Cenotes and close to the ocean. We invite you to join us for 3 - 6 days of healing and relaxation. Click here to check out area Cenotes.
